Just saw Yoplaits new commercial and at the end and now aspartame free. This prompted me to do a little research. General Mills has a blog stating that Yoplait listens to its consumers so after careful consideration, they have removed aspartame from their Yoplait light. Here is a quote: “This is something we’ve been considering and looking into for a while,” says Steve Young, vice president, Yoplait. “We set out to accomplish this move to another sweetener, yet still provide a 90-calorie yogurt option. This change also does not compromise the great taste and creamy texture of Yoplait Light yogurt.” Really???? Listening to consumers General Mills? I beg to differ! You have countless doctors, food formulators, scientists on your payroll and it took you until 2014 to make this decision? You had to wait for consumers to voice an opinion? Thats a good one! You have known for years that aspartame is horrible for the body, yet chose to keep it their until consumer awareness rose. For shame! Wondering what other GM products still have it. Just saying~
