Just sending a reminder that we are having drum class at Bay Path Barn on Saturday, September 20 from 10:30-12 noon. As usual, class is $15 per person with a portion being donated to the wonderful West Boylston Arts Foundation. By request, I will be holding a session on technique from 10-10:30 that same morning for an additional $5. We will discuss and improve posture, hand position, and methods for creating the correct sounds on the drum. Also, I have noticed an increase in students with their own new drums. I am excited to see this and would like to help those of you who have them to learn how to tune and maintain the drums. I would like to offer a post-class tutorial on how to tune your drums, as the new drums are still settling and will change a lot at the beginning of their life. This would also be an additional $5 and will make a big difference in the sound and playability of your new drum. Even if you dont have your own drum, you are welcome to come learn about how to care for a drum. If you are planning to come to any part of the next class and/or the extra sessions on that day, please register with me and let me know if you need a drum.
