Just sent a message to my city councillor regarding the Rob Ford situation. I am pissed off, and figured it cant hurt: Dear Councillor, I just wanted to say that as a citizen of Toronto I am appalled by Rob Fords behaviour, and feel very strongly that he should resign. In particular, the fact that he mislead and or lied to the city for the months since the video story first came out, and the fact that he has been consorting with criminals and having late night meetings that were detailed in the police report is very troubling. Not only has he failed in his job to represent the city well, he has put his office in a dangerously compromised position by his criminal behaviour and association with criminals. I feel very strongly that he should no longer be the mayor, but recognize council cant throw him out. I wanted to say though that I strongly support any measure from the council to both symbolically present their wish that he step down as mayor, as well as curtailing his power for the duration of his time in office, so that such a compromised individual can have minimum influence on the governance of our city.
