Just sharing an incident that just happened to me in shenzhen on 23rd Jan 2014.metro stations in shenzhen are automated and works without any ticket operators.I was trying to get a metro ticket Through their ticket vending machine, but could not succeed.I asked for help from the first Chinese guy I saw there.machine required 6 yuan to get me a metro ticket, that Chinese guy asked me to put 6 yuan in the vending machine,I searched my pocket and got a 5 yuan but I could not find a 1 yuan coin or note to complete. That guy grabbed that 5 yuan note from my hand and added 1 yuan from his pocket to get me a ticket.I would like to tell that 1 yuan equals 10 inr.I couldnt understand. What he is trying to do but when he gave me the metro ticket, then I understood that he helped me so I can reach my destination.I had no change in my pocket but I had a 100 inr note in my purse.I insisted him to accept that note but he denied.after emphasising. 3-4 times he accepted that note from me.I was about to go to catch metro and the same guy. Came to me and told me that he just helped me with 1 yuan then why I gave him back 100inr which equals 10 yuan.I told him-if you wasnt bothered to help me for 1 yuan unconditionally then why should I be worried to show you the Indian gesture which I have learnt from my culture. If someone helps you once, you should help him back 10 times.he just smiled and shaked. Hands with me,and I felt proud.somehow, anyhow I felt proud to be an Indian.
