Just so everyones clear, this little story is a creation of my mind The Naysayer Lumberjack: There was once a lumberjack that lived near a forest. He worked hard day after day earning wages that were barely enough to provide for his family. A thought would gnaw at him every day from within. Is it always going to be this way? The man would ask himself. One day he went into the forest just like he would any other day, except today his mood was foul, little Jacob had broken a window in his house adding to expenses the lumberjack would endure. With his trusty axe slung upon his shoulder, He strode deep into the woods. He looked into the sky and noticed that there was no sun out today; instead he saw that it was engulfed by a cover of dense clouds. God I hope it doesnt rain. Said the man to himself. And yet a few minutes later, it started pouring, it was the hardest rain he had to witness yet. He cursed his luck and insulted the gods for putting him in a predicament such as this. In his rage he blindly wandered deeper into the forest, he had realized his mistake and thought to himself. Darn, I hope I dont run into predators at this time. The thunder accompanying the flashes of lightning was deafening but there was something else, was it... a roar? Whatever it was, the lumberjack could hear it even in the storm... it was close. He scanned his surroundings for any sound of movement. He turned around and in a moment saw something moving, it was a huge shadow as black as the night, and except... it wasnt a shadow... it was just a creature covered in darkness. The man slowly walked away from this creature but he dared not turn his back on it. The creature came into the light and he saw it for what it was.... a large bear. He gazed upon his surroundings looking for a way out but there was none; he knew that he couldnt outrun the bear so he thought to himself. I need to find shelter fast. He saw one to his left, there was a crevice not too far from where he was standing. He decided to run for it as fast as possible. He heard a loud roar; he hastily turned his head to witness the bear standing on two legs before it charged at him on all fours as if it let out a battle cry. This would be close, the man would soon be safe in the crevice but the bear was breathing down his neck, the man saw two shadows, one belonged to him of course, but he saw the bear ready to strike, he ducked just as the bear swung his claws, he was lucky this time for it slowed the bear down. The crevice, he had made it, he spared no time and squeezed into the tiny gap that although was big enough for him but not the giant bear. But it could still squeeze one of its limbs into the gap and could almost reach the terrified human. It repeatedly slashed at the man only to hit the rock. The lumberjack was safe but for how long? He had been there only for a short time but it felt like hours. The ordeal continued and the Lumberjack thought to himself. Oh God!! Save me from this animal!!! And so there was another sound another roar but different from the bear it was more... fierce. Another animal lunged at the bear right knocking him to the ground; it would seem the two were fighting. The man braved to move closer to the opening of the crevice to witness this curious change of events. This was a tiger. Had the bear wandered into his territory? Was it here for a meal? It mattered not for even although they were fought with tremendous ferocity, they were moving away from the Lumberjack who took the opportunity to sneak far away from the fight he didnt care who was the victor for it didnt matter. He took a moment to catch his breath and put his hands on his knees as he bent over exhausted. He looked around and said to himself. Man, I hope Im not lost. Wait... thought the man to himself. I should perhaps choose my words with more care. I hope I find my way home. No sooner than he said this a firefly flew in front of him, it danced around for a few moments gliding his eyes to his right. The lumberjack moved closer but the firefly moved away and yet when he took a step back, it flew towards him. He walked towards the firefly that continued to move away from him. Was this a beacon? Was this a guiding light out of these woods? Eventually, he felt the trees were not as dense as they were before. This was indeed the way home. Is it always going to be this way? the man had asked himself earlier this morning. But now he knew the answer, things would now be different for he knew what he should do right.
