Just some practicalities in all this - its Australia - EVERY child needs swimming lessons... how do i pay for that with the basics card? How do i pay for uniforms? how do i pay for excursions? Its so backward, its ridiculous! My kids are Koori kids - do they miss out on things because people/companies do not have the capacity to accept these cards? How do i give them pocket money so they can learn to budget? I find this whole scenario, completely impractical, in those terms.. The Basics card isnt working in the NT - because of issues like this... how can it be expected to work anywhere else? ... Im 50, well educated, with young kids - I have put in over 50 applications for jobs in the past two months - for admin positions - i would LOVE to work!! Ive had ONE response ... and as you can see, Im literate, able to write & present... Some people just do not understand the position of privilege in which they find themselves... and others... want so much to sup from the trough, theyll say or do anything... West Australia is so different to the East.. This man is what is called a useful idiot... (Lenin was so clever with the put downs)... he dances in that conga line Keating spoke about.hopefully, that is rant over!
