Just something to watch out for if youre in the market for a new laptop or PC, and see one youd like in Currys or PC World..... Theyre currently running a very aggressive and highly dubious sales campaign, where youll be told that the sticker price is £35 short. The reason youll be given is that the machine has already been through their KNOWHOW recovery service, where they basically generate a USB memory stick with a system recovery ability on it. This might be ok if you had asked for it, but youll be told that they arent permitted to sell you the machine without the stick. This is plainly wrong on many levels, not the least of which is its illegality. So, buyer beware! You may find they stick to their guns but reduce the price to as low as a tenner. If you like it, go for it, but bear in mind theyre not doing anything you couldnt do yourself. Personally, Id walk, and choose elsewhere.
