Just thinking in high gear about the near future for Honesdale, PA. and the Rebirth of the Birthplace of the American Railroad. Get ready for a party like you have never seen, well at least since the celebration in 1979. We all have to work together to make this AWESOME. In June of 2010, We had the pleasure of entertaining a large group of visitors from the National Railway Historical Society Convention which was being held in Scranton. I was on board the Stourbridge Line that day with 215 avid train enthusiasts that traveled from all over this great country of ours. Why, because we had something unique and special, something that they could not see elsewhere. They were very impressed and you would be too! Sometimes, we as humans dont even realize what we have right before our eyes. IE: People in New York who never go to see the Statue of Liberty, people in Philadelphia who never go to see the Liberty Bell, and so on. I am here to remind you of what we have right here in Honesdale, a town unlike others, with day to day problems and challenges, but far more importantly we have..... shops, restaurants, businesses, nature, cultural events, arts, more bodies of water than any county in the state, and historic venues throughout the county. Step back in time, take a deep breath and enjoy ALL there is to offer. There is something to do in all four seasons.
