Just thought I would post a little more family history. My great, great, great, great, great granny Mary Davis was sent to Australia in 1814, she was convicted of stealing a watch. She would later be the first person in Australia ever to be pardoned and was granted 60 acres of land in which she named Gounyan. She was pardoned as the true thief confessed to the crime on their death bed. Later the property would be over 2000 acres in size. Grannies husband George was also sent to Australia in 1813 as a convict, he was caught trying to help eight French men try to flee England. It was a failed attempt. Their first born child was the first white child to be born so far inland. Granny Davis lived to the ripe old age of 113.
