Just thought I would share some of my personal tools I make for myself..nothing feels like a hand polished hammer with a nice personal handle you finished, when working on a piece of jewelry..just completes the feel..There are today nice hammers and some pretty good ones from the past but to build your own is awesome..I love to just hold them when I work..here are two of my hammers...I have built myself about 50 of them in my studio and each has a unique purpose..most are for surface embellishment and make marks on metal I want... I buy the heads and the handles both on ebay..the handles are blems because they have a flaw..a small knot or something but to me that adds to the look I want anyway..Unique..!!!! the heads have to be old forged steel..!! Takes some time to fully polish them..but worth the effort..
