Just thought I would share this with this great group. The Maricopa Board of Supervisors Formal Meeting this morning went better than we thought. Its politics and its not going to happen overnight. The good news is 8 or 9 people went up and 1 asked about why were so many dogs killed, last night, why are so many being mislabeled S5 and S43, so they can kill. They were told about a chow that was mistreated and totally mislabeled. Then about a white Pit that was labeled S5, and here is how mean it really is. Then about owner surrenders not given any time. Asked about non- kill,. They were also told how crappy the employees act. But what was the best surprise was a really nice guy, (whom I missed his name). Took his 2 minutes and explain how they are testing the dogs and mislabeling them. He asked about their back ground since way to many dogs are S5/ S4. He then explained that he is an animal behaviorist and moved here a while back. He stated that mislabeling so many that one day their will be a true S5 and someone is going to get hurt. They got a reading about Non-kill does work and how some people use mislabeling to kill innocent dogs. I was going to talk and share my pictures but since this was my first meeting I just sat and watched. But the next meeting I am going to bring up the mislabeling and give them examples with pictures. All of these are S5 and look at the big one it has a service dog harness. So all in all, I think it was a great first meeting. Today and next meeting they will have a voice.
