Just thoughts from an injured worker advocate....... I David Marshall has been re-appointed to the Workers Safety Insurance Board for another 2 year term. The present and future injured workers in Ontario have to live in terror of this fanatical man. We must remember who put this man in power. Ontario Cabinet is allowing this fanatical man to terrorize the present and future injured and diseased workers of our province just for the sake of money. Justice has fled the WSIB system and in the minds of Ontario Cabinet. Not only are you traumatized when you get injured or find out you have contracted a workplace disease you are traumatized the moment your file is received with the WSIB. It is now illegal to have a pre-existing injury and disease and be able to claim long term benefits from the WSIB. Welcome to the god of cabinet. Your elected officials have placed profit for business ahead of you. Why does business even pay into this system when they will get their money back. You try this with your insurance company. Claim supression and denial of wrongdoing by employers in the workplace is the order of the day. Many former Labour Ministers are in cabinet each one said they would make change, This is the change they made, to make money more important than human lives. And we just sit on our hands. Our MPPs do nothing to change the system, they just sit on their hands. Who will make change? Me? You? Our children? Will we let our children who work in Ontario make the change? Do we have to let them live in poverty and all that entails? What do we do for our children now when they get injured or diseased? What are we doing for them today? Who will take care of our injured and diseased children when us parents die? Can we trust our politicians to do this? Can we trust money to take care of us? Money is god of the WSIB. I David Marshall an ex-banker is the main disciple, who else to believe in money except a believer in money. Ontario Cabinet has endorsed wholeheartedly that money will come before the injured and diseased of our province. WHY? Never in our history has this government valued money before people. Never before have we seen our social safety net so destroyed by this and previous governments. I have lost all faith in our elected leaders. By placing profit for business in front of people who were injured while working this is truly evil. When will this evil end? How much more human suffering do we have to endure before this evil rule ends? I have to blame myself for allowing this to happen. For me not doing enough to voice my concerns to the electorate to change this evil, I am guilty. I will do more to get rid of this evil. How to do it eludes me at this time. Do your part, dont be like me and be guilty of not doing anything. Let your MPP know how you feel. Not only on this issue but on any issue where money comes before people. When did money become a god in our society?
