Just throwing this out there since so many people I know feel that they are not only lawyers, psychologists, social commentators, moral superiors but also scientists.. The more you know, the more you realize that you know nothing at all.. I recently saw some people debunking an article about the effects of microwaved water on plants.. it cant do that, they are just harmless radio waves like the ones that have brought news and music to the eager ears of countless people for generations, we are constantly surrounded by electromagnetic radiation, hell, it protects us from the constant barrage of solar radiation... However.. the levels of this radiation are unprecedented in the following 3 devices. Police RADAR guns, cell phones, and microwaves.. Although there is anecdotal evidence that the low level ambient radiation from police RADAR guns has caused testicular cancer, there have been no studies done to attempt to scientifically determine what effect it may or may not have had because of the difficulty in collecting data.. in OSHAs own words In summary, these problems limit the ability to conduct a successful and scientifically valid epidemiologic study of radar gun use and risk of cancer. but then they go on to recommend limiting exposure as an occupational hazard. As a cell phone technician I learned that there have been no long term studies on the effect of radiation emitted by a cell phone, but it is there in measurable quantities.. reason for no studies? difficulty in collecting data.. Now on the the beloved microwave oven.. as per the FDA.. Controlled long term studies involving large numbers of people have not been conducted.. As for the water experiment, it is interesting enough.. although it is correct to question the number of variables and therefore the validity of the results, if you are going to argue the results of an experiment.. do it like a scientist and present either actual case studies or experimental data youve collected on your own.. or keep your mind open to the possibility that everything you ever thought you knew is wrong... And maybe research a little bit before you say that something is scientifically proven to be safe when scientists themselves dont have the empirical data required to make those claims.
