Just to fill everyone in and to make things clear this is whats going on with the land. The site Hopefield is on which is owned by Tescos has been put forward as a proposed site to build new homes in Brentwood. This was not put up by Brentwood council but they have a legal obligation to put the site forward. We have from the 6th of Jan to the 17th of Feb to make our views known. If this plan goes through the land will get sold to developers and no more Hopefield. Even moving sites is not a realistic option as a lot of our income now comes from visitors and could not survive with out it. Hopefield is fighting this and will continue to do so till the land is safe once more. The best way to do this is if people can put there views forward to Brentwood planning. Brentwood planning have kindly send us the details in the file below on how to do this. Buying the land with planing is not realistic as it would be worth millions. The way Hopefield is fighting this is to try and get the land reclassified under recreation and leisure and this will help stop future housing being built on the site so please make this clear in any responses to planning. A petition will also be going live over the weekend which can also be signed.
