Just to share: How to clean your backpacks the lazy way. 1) Slap your backpack a few times to remove large debris. 2) Open all your bag compartments. Also take out the rain cover (if any) but there is no need to remove it. 3) Put your bag in a Kain Sarong. If you do not have one, use a large netting or plain cloth. Then tie the ends of the Kain Sarong / cloth securely. This is to prevent dangling straps and to protect the bags canvas from knocks abd scrapes. 4) Put the bag into the home washing machine (if it fits, especially for bags with internal frames), together with other dirty hiking clothes and anti bacterial detergent (only a small amount, too much may deteriorate the waterproof lining). If your bag does not fit into the home washing machine, then visit your nearest self-service laundry to wash. They should have a bigger washing machine. Good luck and happy Deepavali holidays!
