Just visited the Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington today where Shannon took me on a 2nd tour of the sound stages where Sleepy Hollow sets have been for 2 years for the last time today. I had earlier done the same with Mike when I was able to watch a scene being filmed with Ichabod & Abby...Continued sadness to see the last of them being taken down and moved on to Atlanta (if SH is renewed). Amazingly built, authentic representation of the 18th Centurys colonial times: a village used to represent NCs Lost Colony (already gone), the underground tunnels, the police station, the hidden archives where Ichabod & Abby studied old books & maps as they plotted to stop the bad guys of the apocalypse, the barn where the police chief met his demise at the hands of the Headless Horseman, the mental hospital where Jenny was confined, large costume area, Henrys hideaway & fishing cabin, the village tavern & much, much more...all created with the finest detail & attention to historic evidence. Only 1 more production will be filming there this summer, Under the Dome, and after that...nothing... How much things have changed since last year this time and how sad this is! I couldnt help but feel ghosts all around me today at a place where much activity & talented artists had created a fantasy world where we could laugh & pretend for a little while .What a great opportunity we have lost! Deepest appreciation to all the cast & crew for coming here & producing such a great show where these amazing artists in every possible field entertained & wowed us every week & they will be deeply missed.
