Just voted in TX. I took my voter ID card and my (newly required) picture ID. The nice lady scanned the barcode on my voter card and looked at my ID. She confirmed my address from my voter card. I asked if scanning my voter card and confirming my address and proved who I was. She said yes and handed both documents back to me. It was only at this exact moment that it was clear my drivers license really wasnt needed. Requesting a photo ID is truly a poll tax to the poorer among us. Hopefully this law goes away soon. Please dont try to debate this with me. These are my straight forward non emotional feeling. Money doesnt equal speech and every citizen deserves the right to vote.
