Just walked to shop down Varney Road where quite a few pensioners live and it is absolutely disgusting.I dont know how much it would cost to do a good job for maybe 1/2 weeks during the year but I felt so proud that we give 19 Billion pounds plus to the EU to subsidise idle gets such as the Greeks and French farmers and god knows how much to overseas aid.I have worked in areas where the aid goes,Ethiopia,Somalia etc and can tell people that very little of the money goes to the needy.I understand that we have a small number of gritters because of cost but surely someone can come up with a gritter on a trailer that can be operated from other vehicles.They could be fastened behind or in front of say dustbin wagons as they are not able to be used for the purpose they were intended in the snow.This would be a much cheaper alternative.Come on council/Labour give us what the majority of people want and get us out of Europe cut immigration,cut overseas aid and spend the money on the people of UK,It is after all supposed to be a democracy
