Just want to share a quick thought about minimum wage, and the workers who earn it. As some of you may be aware, there is supposed to be a manufactured (union-backed) strike/walkout/protest tomorrow by fast food workers, demanding a doubling of the federal minimum wage, to $15/hr. While I could probably write at great lengths about the fallacies and foolishness of raising the minimum wage, I will just point out one thing. Today, as I was driving around Little Rock, I passed one of the Taco Bell restaurants. On their big sign out front promoting their current special, were the standard movable and replaceable letters that spelled out Tripple Stake Stack is back. I am assuming that it meant to say Triple Steak Stack. Now I just ask one question. If a minimum wage worker does not even have the minimum skill or knowledge to spell triple and steak correctly, how do they really feel justified in claiming that their work is worth $15/hr?
