Just wanted to run this by all of you, and see if you have any suggestions :) I have a pretty obvious intolerance to gluten. Ive been gluten free for almost 2 years, and have been told I cant test for celiac because of that. I also have ulcerative colitis (for almost 10 years) and my GI doctor says its not a far jump from one auto immune disorder to another and to assume I have it. I have cousins that have been diagnosed, and I had all the symptoms, including skin reactions. My concern is that my reactions to gluten exposure have gotten increasingly worse, and I seem to react to the tiniest spore. My family isnt gluten free, but they are very good about cross contamination and keeping things separate. I dont want to torture them with refusing to allow any gluten in the house, but I cant accurately describe or convince them of the misery I feel when they bring bread and tortillas into the house. I feel like having a definitive diagnosis might make it easier for some of my family to adapt. Im not sure what other avenues to explore, besides an allergist, that would assist me with a second opinion. Any suggestions?
