Just wanted to send a note to everyone to say THANK YOU so much for all your support!!! This is truly the toughest thing I have ever gone through in my life and to have SO MANY people wishing me well and praying for me helps to make it just a little more bearable! I got home from the hospital after the whipple surgery on Nov.13. Its been hard recovering from this surgery let alone accepting the realization that they we not able to do anything during the surgery. The tumour was not able to be removed. NO ONE can possible realize the feelings and what you go through when you actually have to come to the realization that you have cancer. It is devastating....especially when just in March of 2014 I had a full physical and was give a clean bill of health. A physical does not detect cancer, and there are barely any symptoms. Th only reason mine was discovered was because I had a gall bladder attack, and with the attack they did an ultrasound and the tumour showed up on the ultrasound. Everyone needs to pay attention to their bodies and every little ache or pain.....dont push these small aches off to stress because they may not be! So, starting in the new year I will begin chemo and if my body responds well and the tumour shows signs of shrinking I will then start radiation. I am so scared to take these next steps but I really have no choice if I want ANY chance of ever seeing my daughters get married or see grandchildren. Although the oncologist and the radiologist were both very bleak.....the very best thing I have done to boost my will to survive is talk to a naturopath - Sarah Millar!!!! She was absolutely WONDERFUL and although she does not claim to be able to cure me she was certainly able to shed a lot of POSITIVE light that she will work with me to do everything in her power to help me!!! When I walked out of her office I felt like I am now ready to FIGHT! And with the support from family and friends maybe I CAN BE one of the survivors of this terrible disease. NO...not maybe I WILL BE ONE OF THE SURVIVORS!!!
