Just wanted to share a story that has been on my mind for a couple of days. I saw an older man walking in the pouring rain the other day with no coat or anything! So I stopped and gave him an umbrella I had just laying in my truck and asked him if he would like to have lunch with me. He did join me. After hearing this mans stories it made me do some thinking. We live life everyday just going thru having our ups and downs. And not really thinking of what is really going on. This man chose his now lived life style as a result of the pain he has suffered feeling like he had let his family and friends down. He didnt feel he coyld face them again. He felt like it was his ultimate responsibility to take care of the family he was in command of. He lost his entire crew while fighting and serving our country. Remeber freedom isnt free. You never know the stories and life history of the people you see just standing on the street. We dont need to just thank a veteran on one day it should be our duty to thank a veteran everyday! To you Mr. Thomas sterling thank you. I will not forget nor will i ever pass you by. I would also like to add he wanted nothing from me I had to beg him to let me buy him lunch. But he was so thankful. To do what he has done and experience the things he has he still wanted no praise or thanks for his service!! That really should make you think!
