Just wanted to share some thought of the day. It seems to me the conservative govt is really severally getting into a lot of trouble. Every group that is opposed to Harper is either in the courts , or about to head to the courts. First nations groups are in the courts, wheat farmers are heading to the courts, and now I am hearing some of the unions are heading to the courts. I am telling you this is insane! Everybody is taking the federal govt to court, and here we have a speaker of the house of Commons, GG, and other important people who are part of the Parliamentary system and they cant do a thing to get rid of Harper regime or to make a change so the taxpayers dont get stuck covering the legal costs of these court cases. I am really starting to think we need a change in the whole way the parliamentary system works because with all these court cases, taxpayers are going to be upset when they find out how much $$ is going towards the Conservatives being in and out of the courts with different people & different organizations. I just thought I say something because everybody is taking the conservative govt to court over different issues. And we cant have a confidence motion because Harper sadly has 10-15 seats advantage. Surely some opposition MP can come up with a private member bill to change the parliamentary system around to allow some change. Good grief the taxpayers in this country are going to be fuming mad to find out that the Conservative govt is spending tons of money just for being in and out of the courts.For 482 million, that is enough to create a national childcare program or to go towards a national affordable housing strategy or some other program that is needed for Canadians.After 8 years, were talking about 60 million a year wasted on these court cases. Really, I think the Conservatives should start paying for their own legal expenses, and give the taxpayer a break! Just my thought of the day.
