Just wanted to share what happened to me and Brandon last week. We went to Wal-Mart to get our weekly groceries. Brandon was roaming around in electronics and was on the grocery side. As I was shopping someone pecked me on the shoulder. Thinking it was Brandon messing with me, I turned around to find an older gentleman (thankfully I didnt swat at him like I usually swat at Brandon for picking on me) holding a white board saying I like your shirt ( I was wearing my Team Brandon Cancer Sucks shirt). Thats when I noticed his hole in his throat, not wanting to offend and ask him what happened I simply replied with I wear it for my son. He had to have a BMT He asked me how he was doing. I told him he was doing great. (wishing Brandon was there so he could see him). Thats when he pointed to his throat and his hat. (He was wearing a Vietnam Veterans hat). I couldnt put the two together so I thanked him for his service. Thats when he wrote on his board Agent Orange. Thats when I started tearing up. I went on thanking him for not only his service but his pricey sacrifice he had to pay for our country. After a few more words and fighting back tears and thanking him for stopping me about my shirt we went on our way. Then Brandon found me and I was telling him about the gentleman and said I wished he could of met him. All along with tears in my eyes and of coarse Brandon was making fun of me for crying again. Before we left we ran into him again and I introduced him to Brandon and he asked Brandon how he was doing. It just amazes me how something as horrible as cancer can bring complete strangers together. Even though he has his own struggles he was so concerned about Brandon, a complete stranger. I regret never asking the gentleman his name but I will always remember him and I now pray for him. God brought us together for a reason and he has truly touched my life.
