Just wanted to take a moment to say how grateful I am for yoga and meditation and the peace and balance they have brought to my life. Thanks to Karen Smith and Courtney High-Butler for being the catalysts to me completing yoga teacher training after many years of dedicated yoga practice. I spent the last few days putting my body through some pretty rigorous physical activity, e.g., squatting on the floor, vigorously scraping up glue and paint, bending over and cleaning the floor, on all fours laying the brown paper bags, etc. This amounts to about 30 hours or so of bending, squatting, lifting, all with the use of my arms, knees, legs, back and abs. Admittedly, I was really sore and kinda whiny (ask Rodgey Roach and Madeline Upperman), feeling really overworked and sore. But the next morning, I feel fine and rested. My joints and bones and muscles have miraculously recovered in record time and I know that my regular yoga practice has made this possible by making my joints more fluid and pliable, my muscles longer and stronger and my spinal integrity solid. My deep breathing practices helped immensely as well. So much love and labor going into my little yoga space.
