Just wanted to thank everyone for a wonderful night at The Old Winery Restaurant at The Niagara Rhythm Sections 10th anniversary. Special thanks to all the guest musicians that came from out of town including John McAneney, Gayle Ackroyd, Edward Kopala, Peter Griffin, Mitchell J. Wallace, Tamica Herod and to our local players, James Gay, Rayburn Blake, Dave Curry, and Graham Lear. Johnny Max, you were so good and you made my night go so much easier! It was great to see such a great crowd and so many friends in the audience. I hear there was actually a line-up to get in, but the place was so packed I never made it over the the front door side of the room! Thank you all for supporting live music. Even if you only come out once in a while to see us on Saturdays, we still appreciate each and everyone of you. Big thanks to Robert Glatt of the Old Winery for giving us a home for the last three years and of course to Jane Cripps from the Ancorage for six great years. Also to the fine folks at Corks for keeping things going for a year after the Ank shut down for good. And of course, thanks to all of the amazing players that have been part of the NRS from day one especially Herb W Nelson who started it all plus all the people that have drifted in and out of the core band over the years including Denis Keldie, Ed Kopala, Rodger Niznik and the late great Joe Ingrao. Its been a great run and were looking forward to the next 10 years (oh no!) with a great roster of our favourite guests and the new victims that we add to the rotation from time to time. Hope to see you all next weekend. Its our 10TH YEAR PLUS 1 WEEK ANNIVERSARY BASH! And bound to be a great time as always.
