Just watched Outside The Lines on ESPN2 and while Im very impressed of how Russell Berger represented CrossFit, my blood is boiling over how some of the other guests portrayed it. As a new Affiliate Owner I am understandingly sensitive to negative or outright false attributes associated with CF as I spend an equal amount of time defending our sport as I do extolling its benefits for individual fitness and improved quality of life. Listen up....CrossFit is NOT dangerous. Shitty, reckless and/or egotistical trainers ARE dangerous. I have been hurt doing CF, but it was from DANGEROUS coaching, not CF. But I also got Rhabdo in the 90s from a personal trainer who took an ONLINE cert (ISSA)!!! As a consumer do YOUR homework when selecting a CrossFit box or trainer or if you exist in the globo world, chose your personal trainer WISELY. Just because someone has taken their CF-L1 Trainer course, an online cert or has had mediocre success as a self made Functional Fitness athlete does NOT mean they are automatically qualified to train you at ANYTHING. And if you do make a bad choice, for Petes sake, dont blame CrossFit. BADger rant is now over. 😁
