Just watched World War Z... Wow.... Actually this reminds me of a video I watched a while back about how the media reflects what we as humans in our point in time are scared of. Spiderman, for example, was originally written to have been bitten by a radioactive spider because nuclear warfare was what scared mankind the most at the time of the Spiderman comics creation. But later, when the movies were made, Peter Parker was bitten by a spider with a specific gene in its DNA that gave him his superpowers, reflecting how at that point, mankind was (and still is) scared of how changes in our original DNA (from chemicals, poisons, pesticides) can have a big impact on humanity and do harm to the world. Now that zombies are all the rage these days, does that mean that humanity is not scared of what we make that harms us, but that we are scared of our downfall by our own hands? There are billions of people on this planet, we cant possibly control them all, save them all. Are we scared that our downfall will be our own faults as a species, and how we all know it was coming but were never able to stop it? These thoughts are scary enough, but just think: If these ideas are scary, and the media reflects what we as humankind are afraid of, whats next? What else could possibly be more scary than our downfall by our own hands alone? And honestly, I believe this fate could be true, but what could possibly be worse?
