Just watched Zero Dark 30 and I know theres poetic license and Im assuming its not all based on fact but if these films want to be true to life and have the viewer immersing themselves in the film to the point where you feel like you’re in it then they need to make it as close to real life events as possible. An Al Qaeda operative has agreed to meet with the CIA and they choose what is supposed to be a neutral location, as he approaches the small base he stops, weary of the guards at the gate. The CIA agent in charge, afraid of spooking him away tells the Base Force protection Commander to stand his men down and allow the vehicle in without being searched or the occupants checked. Can you guess what happens when the car comes onto the base and pulled up at the meeting place with the CIA operatives and other personnel stood around, I saw it coming a mile away, yes you guessed it, the occupants detonated the 2000Lbs of explosives in the car, theres a shock, a VBIED. No matter how bad you want to talk to someone about Osama Bin Laden’s whereabouts, you still wouldnt let anyone associated with Al Qaeda onto a U.S military base/Afghan Army base without searching them and their vehicle first, Standard Operating Procedure. Sorry for being picky.
