Justice Delayed is NOT Justice Denied. The way our judicial system works and delivers justice, the old phrase Justice Delayed is Justice Denied needs to be customized. The most recent verdict of the Supreme Court dated 24/10/13 in the case of Dr.Kunal Saha vs AMRI & others demonstrates and vindicates this contention. It has taken 15 yrs. for the culprits to be brought to justice, although actual payment of the compensation of about 11 crores may take more years as a review petition is most likely. The crusader for justice, Dr.Kunal Saha, NRI in USA and a doctor-scientist in AIDS research, is now bankrupt and jobless. Other recent instances include the Fodder Scam. It took 18 yrs. to convict the mastermind Laloo Prasad Yadav and other partners / accomplishes to jail terms of a few years. It has taken 16 yrs. to convict the eve teaser in Malda and sentencing him to jail for seven years although, meanwhile, the street romeo could secure a job in W.B.Police by manipulations. How long we will have to endure such a terrible system of governance of justice ?
