Justify Pleasure ‘Blessed are you, O land, when your king is - TopicsExpress

Justify Pleasure ‘Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, And your princes feast at the proper time – For strength and not drunkenness!’ Ecc.10:17 [NKJV]. The key thing is that you really don’t need many things. Think about it. How much money does a man really need? ‘Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, And your princes feast at the proper time – For strength and not drunkenness!’ Blessed are the land, the home, the family, and the marriage where your kings and queens, if you will, eat for strength and not for drunkenness. You inevitably have to spend, but spend on what you need not just on what you want. If you decrease the spending on what you want, you will be shocked at how much you can save. Do you really need that thing you want buy? Ask yourself. Try to justify it if you can because the truth is that one of the fastest ways to poverty is pleasure. As pleasurable as pleasure is, it is one of the fastest ways to poverty. ‘Those who love pleasure become poor; those who love wine and luxury will never be rich’ Prov.21:17. ‘Never be rich’ there means that they will not be able to retain wealth from generation to generation. Unless the bag is luxurious and exotic you cannot carry it. If the earring is not pure gold it will make your ear itch. I have a friend like that; she reacts to anything that is not pure gold. I said come let me lay my hands on you and cast out that spirit. But really she is like that. In heaven we will be stepping on gold on the ground, under the soles of our shoes, that is if we have shoes in heaven. Don’t erode your life with pleasure. Some people just want to enjoy life; it is good to enjoy life. God has given you life to enjoy but to love pleasure is the expressway to poverty. I used to have a weakness for gadgets; I have overcome it in Jesus Name. Years ago I vowed not to buy any more gadgets with my money. Why? Because I know that those things are expensive. I decided that what I have is what I will use. I help my self like that. It was a major deliverance for me and it will be for someone reading this today, in Jesus Name. And God has helped me to keep at it. I have not bought a single gadget with my money in over four to five years. My point is, do not love pleasure! Prayer: Father, let the pleasures of life not become holes in my savings, in Jesus Name.
