Justin and MiMi have had a very busy week....Justin is finally moved into his new room at PTRP!!! No more hospital bed...he has a regular full size bed! MiMi helped get him settled in and a few of his things set up to make his room more homey. Since moving over, he has been very busy with the initial evaluations with all the new doctors and therapists. He has told me that he really likes everyone there and knows he will make some good friends with the other guys there. Talking to him on the phone yesterday, he was excited to tell me that he has been cleared to use the kitchen and cleared to move around the facility with his walker. He doesnt need to be using the wheelchair all the time now...how great is that!! Now that he is there, he will be working harder than he ever has since this journey began. He will be hard at his therapies and learning to be as independent as possible. That means he is going to be responsible for doing his own laundry, keeping his room and bathroom clean, and preparing his breakfast and lunches. Some of you have been asking what he needs now that he is there. The best thing I can tell you is definitely cards and letters of encouragement, but as far as things he needs, being that he is learning independence, they go on lots of outings..grocery shopping, hygiene shopping, and general recreational outings, etc...Walmart gift cards and such would be the best. He does have a new address and will be getting his own mail from now on.
