Juvenile Lamprologus Daffodil guarding their younger siblings. These fish have truly remarkable family dynamics. The parents will spawn every few weeks resulting in fry of all sizes. The older generations help defend the younger ones until they are ultimately pushed out by the breeding pair. A dominant male will keep multiple females in his harem but will only breed with one. The non breeding females help guard the territory and protect the dominant females offspring. It doesnt take much to experience this behavior yourself. A pair of fish and a 29 gallon aquarium. Just add water these guys will do the rest!
