K922N - For the second day in a row a very rare item was brought into Newlyn Antiques for sale. This time it was an 1860s German made, very ornate, set of shop scales of Cast Iron, Copper and Brass, with the original weights. The copper tray is shaped in the form of a Jug. It is 540mm in Length and is 240mm in Height. This rare item is a combination of C19 Utility and Art. It has been in the hands of a German - Australian family since they came to Australia during the Bendigo Gold Rush. It is available for sale at Newlyn Antiques & Cottage Garden Nursery for $220.00
