KABELO ERIC KORA AMBASSADOR Renowned gospel artist, Kabelo Eric has been appointed the 2014/15 Goodwill KORA Ambassador in Botswana. The KORA awards have been postponed to next year in support and solidarity to many Africans who die every day due to the Ebola virus. As the ambassador, Kabelo’s mission will be to act as the KORA awards spokesperson to the media and the arts and culture authorities in the country. He will also have to obtain the contribution of political leaders, local authorities and private sector to help the Ebola virus victims on the African continent. The gospel artist said his other role would include shooting a video about the fight against Ebola virus to be played on YouTube. He would also lobby and advocate for solidarity and support from the State President, Minister of Health and business community at large to donate in kind to the most affected countries hit hard by the virus. Kabelo also noted that he would co-work with the already existing government structures to sensitise the community about the killer virus and ensure enhanced preparedness in the event that the country is hit by the virus. As a gospel artist, Kabelo has already been recognised internationally by the Junior Chamber International through the annual top outstanding young persons of the world awards twice in a row. (BOPA)
