KADUNA STATE SURE-P, THE TRUTH BEHIND THE TRAINNIG. By ANAS HALLIRU. In oder to ensure the proper management of the funds that would accrue to the FG from the partial withdrawal of Subsidy, Govt decided to design a program called Subsidy Reinvestiment & Empowerment Programme (SURE-P). The programme is further spread to the Six Geo political zones, State & Local Govts for easy access to the masses. Through which thenth Of Millions are been send to the Local & State Govts, Kaduna state inclusive. In kaduna, the Govt under the leadership oF H.E. (Dr) Mukhtar Yero appointed his Duputy, H.E Amb. Nuhu Bajoga to chair the SURE -P Implementation Committee, to be assisted by some political associate of the Governor. They were been given the task of managing & disbursing the funds Via Youth & Women Empowerment Scheme. As claimed by the state Govt, about 4000 People in which 40% are women benefited from the programme which took place @ various centres across the state between Dec 2nd -13th, 2012 (10days). Funny enough, within the period of 10days, beneficiaries where trained on the following skills; Printing, photography,plumbing, Brick laying, Block Making, poultry, electricians, aluminium window making, welding, fishry, animal rearing, multi-culture, sugar cane farming, casava farming, hand set repear etc. All the above mentioned skills were learned by the beneficiaries within 10days desfact tje fact that the training started 2days after the flag off which reduces the number of days to 8days. Five months after the training, the state Govt organise a 2015 campaign kick off/ Flag off to distribute a starters packs to the beneficiaries. All the beneficiaries where dressed in customise Atampha which carries Yero/Bajoga 2015 Continuity posters, that is why i called it campaign like. After the flag off, each beneficiary is to receive starter packs (tools) & a start off capital of #10,000 each, which up till now many have received the capital but the starter packs are no where to be found except for the less than 20% thats received. MY QUESTIONS/ OBSERVATIONs ¤ Many beneficiaries can not part take or beself reliance with any of the programme that they learned except for little that have the experience. ¤ The start off capital is just for a refreshment while other states are giving #100,000 & above to each beneficiary. ¤Where is the SURE-P funds that were allocated to our local Govt as we realised that the Governor is @ thesame time Chairman of all the 23 local Govts. ¤The just concluded programme is for SURE-P 2012, now were is the funds received in 2013 and 2014 respectively as we are aware of financial misconducts in the state SURE-P? ¤Where are the rest of the starter packs for the remaning 80% that are yet to receive theres. ¤From where did the Govt got the Millions Of Naira that where use to provide Atampha to beneficiaries or is it part of the Empowerment? Finally, i will like to congratulate H.E for the successful complition of the 2012 SURE-P. We look forward to see that our 2013 and 2014 SURE-P funds will be spend properly & will not be use for 2015 election.
