KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS.SYNDICATED, ENGLISH. 09 MARCH 2014 Praying, Bible studies in gov’t offices LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… If you listen to the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands… the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you listen to and obey the Lord your God…” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the Bible). -ooo- GOV’T MUST PUSH SPIRITUALITY AMONG PINOYS: Indeed, as former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban so ably pointed out, there is no separation of the Philippines, as a state, from God even if in its Constitution it has decreed a separation of the church and state. Basically, Panganiban is saying that the Philippines as a state believes in God, and that even its present Constitution, promulgated by the first President Aquino in 1987, confirms that belief in God by its invocation of the Almighty God’s aid. That being the case, there should really be no problem as there should be no serious objection if government leaders, no matter what their religion maybe, would be pushing spirituality as a way of life, as distinguished from mere religious affiliation among Filipinos, in an attempt to improve their economic status. -ooo- BLESSINGS WILL COME TO THOSE WHO READ AND OBEY THE BIBLE: Clearly, among the many religions in the Philippines, this push for spirituality as a way of life---that is, living and behaving strictly according to what is right and wrong pursuant to the tenets found in their holy books, no matter how these books maybe called or referred to---could easily be achieved by seeing to it that their followers would be consistently reading those holy books and then obeying them. And since these holy books contain verses, guidelines, and directions as to how any of their believers should be behaving and living their lives as a prerequisite to economic sufficiency and success, sincerely and truthfully obeying them should stop poverty among the people. In the Christian Bible for instance, Christians are powerfully told that all of their needs would be given to them, and material and financial blessings, and all other blessings that one could ever dream of and aspire for, if only they seek God’s kingdom first and live according to His righteousness. This is shown by Matthew 6:33 and Deuteronomy 28:1-14, among others. -ooo- PRAYING, BIBLE STUDIES IN ALL GOV’T OFFICES: Christians are also told that prosperity and success in any of their endeavors could come to them, but only if they read their Book of the Law (that is, the Bible), meditate on it day and night, and carefully obey everything that is written in it, as Joshua 1:8 is saying. So, how then do we operationalize this push for spirituality among Filipinos, from the point of view of government which would like to seek economic upliftment for its citizens? It should obey Joshua 1:8 by requiring, for a start, all government agencies---their officials and the public that deal with them---to follow the example of the Supreme Court: have a minute or so of prayer at the start of the day in their respective offices. On top of these prayer moments however, government should be requiring its agencies---and, again, even the public that deal with them---to conduct brief Bible studies (or a study of other holy books in places where there are other holy books), to be informed of God’s principles and commands that would make successful and prosperous. A nation that reads the Word of God and obeys His commands is going to be blessed and exalted all the time! -ooo- REACTIONS? Please call me at 0917 984 24 68, 0918 574 0193, 0922 833 43 96.
