KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS.SYNDICATED, ENGLISH. 09 NOVEMBER 2013 Erroneous perspective on global warming LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… The Lord will strike you with… scorching heat and drought… The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron. The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed…” (Deuteronomy 28:22-24, the Holy Bible). -ooo- WHEN WILL WE LEARN? With due respect, when will our so-called “climate activists” here in the Philippines, like a group calling itself “Aksiyon Klima Pilipinas”, ever learn? I mean, it is no longer funny seeing Aksiyon and other groups clamoring for more government money to be spent on supposed climate adaption activities, even at the height of Super-typhoon Yolanda’s rage in the Visayas and Mindanao Friday, November 08, 2013. It is as if Aksiyon and groups similar to it do not know that nothing is ever going to happen to “climate adaptation activities” even if they are funded with billions and billions of pesos (or even of dollars, in fact), as shown by the resounding failure of any and all past efforts to fight global warming and climate change even on an international level. -ooo- WRONG PERSPECTIVE ON GLOBAL WARMING: Therefore, any additional money from the Philippines for the same purpose will just go to waste all over again! Undeniably, no human effort has as yet been successful in fighting global warming and climate change, the billions of dollars already spent on it notwithstanding. The reason? All attempts at climate adaptation sorely lacked the truly relevant and material perspective on why there is global warming and climate change in the first place, which is that, environmental degradation was predicted to happen as a result of spiritual decay of many people. Without this spiritual perspective, solving global warming and climate change is an impossibility. -ooo- TACLOBAN UNDER DIRTY WATER: GOD’S MESSAGE SOMEWHERE? Tacloban City appears to be one of the hardest hit by Yolanda. Social media reports on Friday, November 08, 2013, painted quite a horrific picture of the city as murky floodwaters submerged most its downtown area, occasioned by the roaring and rushing of sea water towards land as a result of a “storm surge” at the height of the super-typhoon. Wow! As I watched in Facebook a video footage of the blackish water swallowing up with ease downtown Tacloban City---which my wife, my daughter and myself visited about five or so years ago---I couldn’t help recalling what I read in an old book which said, “… nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea…” when it talked about the end of the world. -ooo- COLOMA IS RIGHT, LIFE OF ONE FILIPINO IS IMPORTANT: Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma said it right: it is better to be safe than sorry when government is reaction to typhoon warnings, because the life of even only a single Filipino is truly very important and is worth saving. What do the critics of the Aquino government want---for officials to take it easy or take the warnings for granted, and then regret later? -ooo- WILL CHIZ ANSWER FOR ANY HARM VS. NAPOLES? What if our courts will really transfer Janet Lim Napoles to an ordinary jail from her cell at the Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, as proposed by Sen. Francis Escudero, and then some harm comes upon her? Will Escudero answer for that harm and, God forbid, even death? Surely, Escudero as a bright lawyer knows there are many other ways of getting at the truth when an accused denies everything, so it is these other ways he should explore, not a tranfer of detention. -ooo- REACTIONS?
