KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS.SYNDICATED, ENGLISH. 21 JULY 2014 INC’s Philippine Arena, “temple of God” LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David. He began building on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign…” (2 Chronicles 3:1-2, the Holy Bible). -ooo- INC INAUGURATES PHILIPPINE ARENA: The July 21, 2014 inauguration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s Philippine Arena, the world’s largest domed indoor arena, not only is a fitting introduction to the INC’s impending July 27, 2014-100 years celebration, but was an activity laden with Biblical parallelisms and similarities, attesting to the Biblical authenticity of the INC. More than a 55,000-seater coliseum, the Philippine Arena might as well constitute a grand temple without equal anywhere in the world, dedicated to God by the INC (undoubtedly the Philippine’s most powerful religious group today). Without any doubt, the Philippine Arena bears a striking similarity to the “temple of the Lord” which King Solomon built to honor God during his time (see 2 Chronicles of the Bible). It is significant that the Philippine Arena was built some four years after INC Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo took the leadership of the Church following the death of his father, the late Erano G. Manalo, the second INC Executive Minister. The fact was that, King Solomon built the “temple of the Lord” to honor God four years after he was installed king of Israel. -ooo- COMIC RELIEF FROM PNOY: Wittingly or unwittingly, President Aquino provided some comic relief to the otherwise formal ceremonies inaugurating the Philippine Arena and the entire 140 or so hectares of land that form part of Ciudad De Victoria (or City of Victory), or the complex where other INC structures will be built to commemorate its centennial in Bocaue, Bulacan. In at least two instances during his speech, he quoted verses from the Bible dealing with love, particularly to the less fortunate members of society. Each time, he draw thunderous applause from the overflow crowd of about 55,000 that gathered inside the Philippine Arena as early as 1 a.m. on July 21, 2014, evidently showing approval of the President’s foray into the Word of God. Aquino quipped: “I noticed that you have been applauding my references to the Bible. Why, even my long-times associates seem surprised, and apparently couldn’t believe that I could quote from the Bible.” More thunderous applause greeted him after this! I think that if only Aquino would continue reading the Bible, and continue using it as a basis not only for his speeches but of his actions, real change will come to his government. -ooo- CONGRATS, INC, EXECUTIVE MINISTER EDUARDO MANALO: INC General Evangelist Bienvenido Santiago Jr., on the other hand, confirmed that Ciudad de Victoria is intended by the INC to benefit not only its members, but all Filipinos nationwide, and even foreigners from the different parts of the globe. Santiago took note that the complex, highlighted by the Philippine Arena, will also be home to a modern hospital which will be 11 stories high. Indeed, the INC has a lot to celebrate with, as it marks its 100 years of existence. Sure, it has become the most powerful religious group in the Philippines and in many other parts of the world. But then, its most powerful impact can be seen in the discipline that is demonstrated by its members which sets them apart from ordinary believers. This kind of discipline has enabled the INC to retain the interest of its old members thereby making them loyal to the Church all throughout their lives, and to gain new adherents who see in the INC the care and concern that genuine-loving family members shower one another, through good and difficult times.
