KARIMNAGAR, Officials of Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) launched a special drive against child labour and enrolment of out of school children into the schools in Karimnagar on Monday. Under the leadership of RVM project officer Shyam Prasad Lal, the RVM officials visited Jyothinagar locality where the migrant labourers from Rajasthan were involved in making Ganesh idols and found 35 out of school children helping their parents making idols. The PO announced setting up of Non-residential special training centre (NRSTC) for the children of migrant labourers at their workplace. The RVM authorities would appoint instructors to teach Hindi, English and Telugu languages and other subjects. Later, the official team noticed two children Geetha and Rajitha at a slum near Ambedkar stadium. The officials counselled their parents and got the girl students admitted in Kasturbha Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) in Karimnagar. The RVM project officer said that they would also identify the out of school children in other parts of the town and join them into the schools. Mr. Shyam Lal said that they would also conduct similar surprise inspections in Vemulawada, Kondagattu, Dharmapuri and Kaleshwaram in Karimnagar district to enrol out of school children into regular and residential schools. He also warned that MEOs and the cluster resources persons (CRP) would be held responsible if they notice children out of the school in various parts of the district.
