#KDF_Day On Tuesday, October 14th the military will mark the Kenya Defence Forces Day - when the troops entered Somalia. This years KDF Day marks exactly three years since our incursion into Somalia to defend the sovereignty of Kenya and degrade al Shabaab. On October 14th, 2011.. soldiers from Nanyuki 10 Engineers in Nanyuki Garrison were first deployed in Operation Linda Mpaka that then became Operation Linda Nchi before being integrated with AMISOM. KDF has contributed immensely in restoration of peace and stability in Somalia. We consider our defence forces worthy of our praise and gratitude. Kenyas fighting men sacrifice much to ensure that our great nation stays free. We owe a debt of gratitude to the soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for this cause (RIP), as well as for those who are blessed enough to return from the battlefield. unscathed. We need to thank all of our troops, particularly those for whom we can never express enough gratitude for they have given their lives so that all of us may be free and that our democracy can be a shining light for the rest of Africa.
