KEMP update... Great news today! We went to see an opthalmologist, Dr. Barrett Gift, at the Animal Eye Care in Wilmington, NC and he gave us a wonderful gift....a great prognosis and the reason for the eye problems. Kemp has a rare allergic reaction to certain adenovirus vaccines. We have two new drops besides the current one. He should be good as new...we go back in three weeks. The rat poisoning or whatever he got into as a stray weakened his immune system. When he got his intake shots thats supposed to protect him it made it worse. The transfusion and all the medicines saved his life but the eyes were still a problem. Giving him all but his distemper booster set us back again. All makes sense when you put all the pieces together. How ironic is it that I, who am allergic to almost all medicines and dyes, would end up fostering a puppy that has strange and rare allergic reactions too!
