KENTUCKY IMAGES, an exhibition of paintings from the permanent collection of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, will exhibition at the Duncan Center Museum and Art Gallery from September 3-26th. Paintings in a variety of media feature the works of six award-winning Kentucky artists, including Jim Cantrell, Bardstown; Ellen Glasgow, Frankfort; Michael Wheeler, Lexington; Sandy Sasso, Alma; Jerry Watson, Paducah; and Neil Di Teresa, Berea. Featured are landscapes, portraits and figurative works on canvas. Artists selected for the exhibition reflect the emphasis placed by the OMFA on the importance of documenting the works of Kentucky artists. The loaned exhibition is a part of an ongoing partnership with the OMFA. Most recently, objects from the Duncan Center’s coal collection were featured in OMFA exhibitions, Kentucky Gold: The Legacy of Coal and Regional Treasures. The exhibition at the Duncan Center will be open during regular hours of 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art is located at the corner of 9th and Frederica streets and is open Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and weekends, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.
