COUNTY PROPOSALS MILLAGE FOR SENIOR CITIZEN SERVICES Shall Kent County levy .50 of one mill which is equal to 50 cents per $1,000 of the taxable value on all real and personal property subject to taxation for the period 2014 through 2021, inclusive, for the purpose of planning, evaluating, and providing services to persons age 60 years or older? This millage is a renewal of the previously authorized millage of 0.33 mills which expires following the 2013 levy and a new additional millage of 0.17 mills. The amount raised by the levy in the first calendar year is estimated at $10,000,000. In Kent County there are 27 local authorities that capture and use, for authorized purposes, tax purposes, tax increment revenues from property taxes levied by the County. Such capture could include a portion of this millage levy.
