KI NOU PE FER POU SESEL?” A half day workshop was organised by Liaison Unit for Non Government Organisations Seychelles (LUNGOS) for its members and partners, under the theme “KI NOU PE FER POU SESEL?” as part of its 25th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration activities. The workshop aimed at identifying the role of Civil Society in the development of the Seychelles, what has been done and what is the way forward. HASO who is an accredited member of Lungos was represented at the workshop by its Chairperson Mr Justin Freminot and Representative Mr Ronny Arnephy. Participants got the opportunity to follow the journey of LUNGOS from its birth 25 years ago till today through a detailed presentation by its Chairperson Mme Marie-Nella Azemia showcasing the achievements and challenges along the way. Through a group work, participants were able to express their concerns as well as their recommendations for the way forward that they believe will enable an emerging and future role of civil society in Seychelles. This is vital now that LUNGOS is in the process of transforming to Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS), a larger platform that will not only have NGOs under its wings but also other non-state actors. HASO wishes to thank LUNGOS for availing this workshop and looks forward to the next.
