KILABALITA: October 21, 2014 There is no reason to celebrate peasant month as Davao farmers decry unresolved landlessness and consecutive human rights violations under the US-Aquino regime during their march along San Pedro Street today. The flock led by Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas demanded for the immediate implementation of the Genuine Agrarian Reform Bill (GARB), as they slam other government programs and schemes that merely served foreign and multinational companies. Pedro Arnado, chairman of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas-Southern Mindanao Region, stressed that the back-to-back cases of harassment, trumped-up charges and killings of peasant leaders and organizers in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley in the past three weeks are out of Oplan Bayanihans intensified militarization. Arnado then condemned the Aquino administration for its fascist attacks on Filipino farmers thru its killing machine, Armed Forces of the Philippines; and called for the immediate pull-out of military troops in the countrysides. KMP had also vowed to intensify the Aquino ouster campaign for genuine land reform and justice for all victims of Oplan Bayanihan.
