===KINGSLEY=== EPISODE 4 I reached home very tired due to the days work and the clinic drama.As usual, i normally eat at a restaurant along the road when coming back from work cos i dont usually cook. So what was left for me was to take a nice shower, and then grab my game console or hug my pillow. After the shower i decided to have a date with my bed cos playing games required energy which is not at my disposal now. I planned that it was going to be a short nap so as to wake up by 9 oclock for the network news, but as fate had it,i woke up by 9 oclock the next morning, meaning im even very late for work. I rushed myself,took a quick bath that is called in my local palace rub and shine, i didnt bother eating,i rushed to the extent i had to fiinsh my dressing up in the car, half way to my office.Dats what you get when you dont have a peace of mind. As I walked into the company, as expected,peoples gazes were fixed firmly on me, as if i had a paint on my face. But as ill luck had it,i met MRS.Dike who was actually the acting GMD,on my way in, kingsley,meet me in my office was all she had to say, keeping i short and simple. I knew i was up for a long thing cos i really cant remember the last time she called me KINGSLEY without attaching a mister to it. I rushed to my office,kept my things and finally had my morning devotion which i couldnt do at home, before heading for her office. good morning ma i said,with half of my gaze on her table checking if my sack letter has already been printed. whats good about this morning,eeh kingsley she said with a bitter and rash tone what on earth would make a young,responsible man like you come to work by this hour, not that you have a family to think about im sorry ma,i over slept i wasnt good at lying so the truth just flew off my mouth. so youve joined the clique keep late night, clubbing,and am sure its the women you slept with last night that made you loose your consciousness she said with rage. it wasnt funny at all, but her statement was a bit funny, i was just mopping at her acting dumb,when she lashed out, so ive been talking to a ghost all these while,eeh kingsley no ma,it might be the injury i sustained i replied out of self defense. I really dont like it when im been interrogated this way cos sometimes it tends to bring out the devil in me. when did you sustain the injury and where?she asked yesterday ma,at the workshop i answered are you sure? she asked again yes ma,im sorry not to have informed you i replied she picked up the telephone on her table and made a call, which from her conversation was obvious she was calling DR.sarah. few minutes later, DR.sarah walked into her office, i started feeling uneasy the moment she came in, it might be that awkward moment your mercy is left at the hands of someone who feels you used her to gain favour. DR.sarah,did you get any report of this man getting injured mrs. Dike asked yes ma,i was actually the one who treated him she replied, and when was that? mrs.dike asked yesterday mashe replied, all these while i didnt look towards her direction okay,you can go she ordered sarah out and turned to me youd have to write an apology letter,after which youd sign an undertaken that this sh*t wont repeat itself again, do i make myself clear? yes ma i replied,taking my leave immediately. Mehn,i didnt believe i went into that office that has been nicknamed dungeon, and come out free without receiving a sack or suspension letter or even a deduction in salary, i thing my morning prayer kept me going. I went to my office,wrote the appology letter, then headed for her office again. She read the letter, then brought out a booklet and asked me to read it, and after reading it i should sign at the line below. I did as she instructed and signed the undertaken, which reminded me of my secondary school days where the principal would call the parents of all the ss3 students to sign an undertaken for their children, especially after a riot in the school or any violent act. I was through with all her protocols,so right now i think am free. I went back to my office and continued my days work.checked out somethings on the net. I later dispatched a team of workers from my sector to do some maintenance work after i was contacted that the power supply of a fraction of the company was down. I couldnt go with them cos i wasnt fit and most especially i was hungry, that was when i remembered i havnt eaten. I checked my time,it was a few minutes to 12,and i have an appointment with DR.sarah by 12,so i decided to hold on and maybe eat after the appointment with her, although it sounded crazy to me how i made my appointment with her a priority, hope its not what am thinking of. After sometime i checked my time again and it was few minutes past 12, so i suspended the things i was working on at that time and headed to the clinic to be continued...
