KINGSTON NEWS....The Bartow Herald December 14, 1961 By Mrs. A. B. Howard Tom Helton, who has been a patient at Floyd Hospital for the past three weeks returned to his home this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Branscum are receiving congratulations on the birth of a daughter, at Floyd Hospital, on Monday, December 4th. Mr. Branscum is principal at the Kingston Grammar School. The Kingston PTA met Tuesday, December 12th, at seven-thirty o’clock in the school lunchroom. Every parent is needed to take part in the PTA program. Members of the Ric-Rac Club met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. W. Martin. Those present were: Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Max Andrews, Mrs. C. V. Harper, Mrs. Bill Martin, and Mrs. Earl Hood. Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Cochran, of Rome, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Harper Sunday. The city of Kingston held an election Saturday to elect the councilmen and mayor for the next two years. Elected Councilmen were: Joe Moore, Charles Lee, Pearly Cochran, and Emmett Whiley. C. E. Johnson, Jr., remains as mayor. Mrs. Ralph Stewart spent several days last week at Floyd Hospital where she received treatment and observation. The Woman’s History Club met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Roney Hood. Mrs. C. V. Harper, President, presided over the business session. Mrs. Bub Sheats was in charge of the program and has as guest speaker, Al Tull, civic leader, of Cartersville. Following the program delicious refreshments were served. Present were: Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Max Andrews, Mrs. Guy Malone, Mrs. Bob Sheats, Mrs. Eugene Mullinax, Walter Martin, Mrs. Earl Hood, and Mrs. Alton Colyer. Mrs. Vincent Jolly was hostess to the Snip-Snap Club Thursday at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. W. Martin. Those present were: Mrs. Boyd Martin, Mrs. B. T. Abernathy, Mrs. Charles Bray, Mrs. Calvin Burton, and Mrs. G. B. Hood, Jr.
