KIRK: Status report, Spock. SPOCK: The Enterprise should be ready for launch by the time we arrive. KIRK: Good. SPOCK: Captain. Thank you for requesting my reinstatement. KIRK: Youre welcome. SPOCK: As Im again your First Officer, it is now my duty to strongly object to our mission parameters. KIRK: Of course it is. SPOCK: There is no Starfleet regulation that condemns a man to die without a trial, something you and Admiral Marcus are forgetting. Also, preemptively firing torpedoes at the Klingon homeworld goes against...KIRK: You yourself said the areas uninhabited. Theres only gonna be one casualty. And in case you werent listening, our orders have nothing to do with Starfleet regulation. BONES: Wait a minute. Were firing torpedoes at the Klingons? SPOCK: Regulations aside, this action is morally wrong. KIRK: Regulations aside, pulling your ass out of a volcano was morally right. I didnt win any points for that. BONES: Whoa. Jim, calm down. KIRK: Im not gonna take ethics lessons from a robot! SPOCK: Reverting to name-calling suggests that you are defensive and therefore find my opinion valid. [at that moment Bones places a device on Kirks face as he continues to examine him] KIRK: I wasnt asking for your opinion. Bones, get that thing off my face. SPOCK: Captain, our mission could start a war with the Klingons. And it is, by its very definition, immoral. Perhaps, you should take a requisite time to arrive at this conclusion for your self.
