KISWA ROLLED UP: The black and gold embroidered Kaaba cover, known as Kiswa, is rolled up every year during Haj season. According to Ahmed Al-Mansouri, spokesman of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, the idea is to prevent pilgrims from pulling it down. It is raised up to three meters from the ground. Some pilgrims are also known to cut the Kaaba cloth to take back as a souvenir. (AN photos by Ahmad Hashad)
